Of the three installers I looked at, Ecocetera was by far and away the most knowledgeable in terms of the technology, and prided themselves particularly on the quality of their installs. It's run by a husband and wife team, and Conrad - the husband - was the person who visited. Conrad is clearly a very technically proficient, knowledgeable and fastidious man when it comes to the installs, and goes to lengths to ensure his employees are also. I appreciated this a lot. Also, Conrad is *not* a salesperson, he's an installer, which I also appreciated.
Sadly, however, their two stumbling blocks when it came to quoting me were: 1) they measured my roof rather inaccurately, claiming that only 16 panels could be fit up there, and 2) took five working days to produce the quote. Given I now have 20 panels on my roof (and you could definitely fit at least a couple more), claiming that I could only fit 16 pushed up the quote prices substantially for the system size I wanted, as they required the use of very high-efficiency panels. I couldn't be bothered to wait another 5 days to go through the quoting cycle, so ultimately Ecocetera fell to being my second choice. I would certainly have gone with them over anyone else if they'd got the quote right first time.
